If you are connecting your SmallGarden to WiFi, and are unable to successfully pair, there are few things to check:
- Ensure your SmallGarden is relatively close to your WiFi router so it receives a strong enough signal to connect. Although every router is different, you should be fine if you are within 50ft (15m) of your wireless router. Outside of this distance can also work, it just may be difficult depending on if anything is interfering with the signal (i.e. steel beams, aluminum framing etc.). Your SmallGarden will work with any signal greater than -80dBm, and has been tested to work up to 300ft away from a router when unobstructed.
- Verify that your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal. Newer routers often broadcast both 5GHz and 2.4GHz, but can sometimes only broadcast 5GHz by default. For the SmallGarden to connect, you must ensure that 2.4GHz has been activated on your router. To do this please use one of the links below (for common routers) or search for 'How to set up 2.4GHz on [ROUTER NAME AND MODEL]':
- While pairing, ensure your SmallGarden is in 'Setup Mode' by pressing and holding the main button until the LED light begins to pulse green to initiate setup mode.
