What to expect when growing lettuce
Lettuce is superior in taste and vitamin A which makes it a staple in many meals. Homegrown lettuce is easy to care for but it’s beneficial to know what to expect prior to growing so you can produce the best quality lettuce!
Starting with a seed
Lettuce grows quickly so it is best to grow a small amount at a time. Before planting make sure you are using light, nutrient dense, easily drainable soil (like ēdn’s SeedPods) in order for your lettuce to thrive. Lettuce grows the best in cool temperatures so when growing indoors, choose the coolest part of your house.
Caring for your lettuce
You want to spray the tops of your soil with water daily so they are moist until it germinates. You should expect your seeds to sprout within the first two weeks. You should be harvesting your first salad within the first 30 days.
