Your lettuce is ready to be harvest once the leaves are around 4 inches tall. You can harvest one leaf at a time or a whole bunch. Our favorite tool to use for harvesting our 'snips' which are available on our website.
To ensure that your lettuce plant will continue to grow, snip the outer leaves of each plant at the base where they attach at the stem- making sure to only cut about 75% of the leaves. Avoid cutting the crown or inner leaves to allow for more growth and pick leaves from different plants if possible.
For the best quality lettuce, harvest in the morning when the cells are the most hydrated. The average salad lover will go through 2 feet of lettuce a week so make sure you plant enough!
